Should I take the Beginner rider course? If you fall into the following category I would advise you to take the beginner rider course versus the experienced rider course. If you rode for a while then quit riding for a number of years or you are a self-taught rider. If you fall into either of those two I recommend you taking the beginner rider course versus the experienced rider course. If you are just a beginner the beginner course is just for you.
In the State of Oklahoma recently the law was changed concerning Motorcycle Licensing Procedure. Effective November 1, 1999, DPS will begin waiving the riding skills portion of a motorcycle examination for any applicant that completes a DPS approved Motorcycle Driving School . The applicant must show the completion card issued by the approved school and additional information supplied by the school. The applicant will still have to take the written skills section of the testing.
